Essential maintenance under way in Rosslyn
Residents and businesses can report issues with recent roadwork done via email to Customercare@tshwane.gov.za or Potholes@tshwane.gov.za.
The Tshwane metro recently prioritised the upgrading of critical road infrastructure, with a focus on essential maintenance work on Piet Rautenbach and Fairwood streets in Rosslyn, north of Pretoria.
The project involved road surface patching and road markings at important intersections.
Tshwane spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the initiative highlighted a broader strategy to ensure that residents and businesses in Rosslyn benefitted from lasting improvements in infrastructure.
Mashigo said the metro was committed to maintaining high standards in roadworks and road quality through a comprehensive maintenance plan.
“This plan includes monthly schedules for critical infrastructure needs, pothole repairs, resurfacing, and the rehabilitation of aged roads.”

Mashigo mentioned that the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) teams play a vital role in these maintenance efforts.
He said these teams receive training and are supervised to ensure the quality of their work, which includes road marking, drain cleaning, street cleaning, and pothole patching with regular assessments and full-time supervision to help maintain high standards and efficiency.
“The budgeting for road maintenance and cleaning projects is integral to the city’s service delivery strategy. While the annual budget considers critical community needs and aligns with the Roads Section’s maintenance plans, ensuring that adequate resources are allocated to address various road maintenance tasks,” said Mashigo.
Residents and businesses concerned about recent roadwork are urged to report issues via email to Customercare@tshwane.gov.za or Potholes@tshwane.gov.za.
They are also advised to report via the city’s app or directly to the ward councillor.
