Residents of Centurion came in their numbers to support the Centurion hospice fund-raising market on Saturday.

The hospice was excited to host the market, the first after a long break, as the turnout was amazing.

One of the organizers, Dorothy Wys, said they decided to contact everybody who was part of the market in the past, to assist the hospice with funds.

She said the market aimed to raise funds for the hospice.

“The market was a success, and we had a total of 10 stall holders who came out and were very happy with the support they received from the public,” she added.

The market sold anything from boerewors rolls, scratch patch clothing at a reasonable price, books at a 50% discount, arts and crafts, roosterkoek, pancakes, and samoosas – all part of the fundraising event for the hospice.

She added we had people who came in to give cash donations to the hospice.

Centurion resident Lisa van der Walt showed her spirit dressing up for a taste of the A Bookish Fantasy Charity Fundraiser set to take place at the Royal Elephant Hotel on October 26.

According to Van Der Walt, attendees can expect a fantasy-filled evening with live entertainment, a lavish dinner complete with dancing, and a silent auction, with all proceeds going to the Centurion Hospice.

Centurion Hospice provides palliative and psychosocial care in all areas of Centurion, and as far as Midrand, Monument Park, Olievenhoutbosch, and Pretoria West.

The market started at 08:00 and ended at 13:00
