Multiple bystanders shot and injured in Pretoria CIT robbery

The public is urged to avoid the area as police pursue CIT robbers, and several bystanders have been injured.

A violent cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery on the corner of M43 and Molefe Makinta Street in Soshanguve, North of Pretoria, has left several bystanders injured, prompting a police chase and warnings for the public to avoid the area.

Paul Visser from the Pretoria ICE Community Network said the robbery was reported at about 16:50 on Wednesday.

“A CIT robbery was reported, resulting in multiple bystanders being shot. Security personnel are pursuing the suspects.”

Visser advised the public to avoid the area as several emergency services are still busy on the scene.

“To ensure safety, please avoid the area.”

He added that patients are being treated and transported to nearby hospitals.

Police could not yet confirm or provide more information about the incident.
