Woman (30) nabbed in Centurion for drug possession

When police searched her vehicle, drugs to the estimated value of R200 000 were found.

A 30-year-old woman was arrested in Centurion on April 14 after being found in possession of drugs.

Johannesburg Flying Squad spokesperson Raymond Sambo said the arrest happened around 16:45 at the corner of Old Johannesburg Road and Sarel Baard Crescent.

He said officers were conducting routine patrols in the area when they pulled over a woman driving a white Isuzu bakkie.

Sambo noted that the driver exhibited signs of nervousness and suspicion, prompting the police to request a search of the vehicle.

“During the search, law enforcement officials discovered 10 packs, each containing about 100 small packets of drugs, which are suspected to be heroin.

“The recovered drugs have an estimated street value of R200 000,” he added.

He said the woman was taken into custody for possession of drugs following the discovery and was subsequently detained at Wierdaburg Police Station for further investigation.

The suspect is expected to appear at the nearest magistrate’s court soon.
