Water pressure at three north reservoirs to be affected by maintenance work
The maintenance proposed by Rand Water will last for 14 days focusing on cleaning and maintaining Hartebeesthoek Reservoir.
The Hartebeesthoek Reservoir will undergo planned maintenance as from next week, causing water interruptions in some parts of the north.
The work will consist of repairing the reservoir for 14 days, from May 9 to 23.
Water interruptions are expected for supply areas such as the Soshanguve DD, Soshanguve L, Ga-Rankuwa, Kruisfontein, Mabopane reservoirs, as well as Nkwe Estate, SA Breweries, and BMW in Rosslyn.

Metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo informed residents in the supply areas to use water sparingly during this period to prevent reservoirs or systems from running dry.
“During the 14-day period, the water utility will be intensively cleaning and maintaining the reservoir,” he said.
According to Rand Water, an alternative supply through a bypass method will be used to feed reservoirs and direct zones located downstream.
However, there will be less volume of water available during the morning and afternoon peak hours, particularly in the Soshanguve L Reservoir, which is the most sensitive zone.
The following reservoirs may experience low to no water pressure:
– Kruisfontein Reservoir
– Soshanguve Reservoir
– Mabopane Reservoir
Tshwane apologises for the inconvenience that may arise as a result of this planned maintenance.
