Help Rekord to support Wollies’ needy animals
Wollies, the pro-life animal shelter in Pretoria North, cares for more than 1 000 animals on a daily basis. Rekord is planning an outreach on August 8 and is calling on the community to join.
Wollies, a well-known animal shelter in Pretoria North, has been chosen by the Rekord sales team as the focus of its August outreach.
The team is calling on the community to get involved and make a difference.
Sales manager Sajedeha Ameer says the decision to support Wollies was taken after the team became aware that it is currently in great need.
Under the leadership of Cilla Trexler, Wollies cares for more than 700 dogs and 300 cats on a daily basis at its premises in Hesteapark.
This pro-life shelter is celebrating its 12th birthday this year and aims to treat all animals, irrespective of their background, with love and care.
“It isn’t always easy, but we have so many willing friends who are ready to help out, that one gains hope every time,” Trexler said.
The shelter recently had to cope with a lack of water for over 10 days, due to a mistake on the metro’s side.
Through the intervention of Councillor Rina Marx, the issue was resolved thanks to her swift action, for which the Wollies team was extremely grateful.
The Rekord sales team plans to visit Wollies on August 8 and donate some food for the animals: both tins and dry food for dogs and cats.
You can boost our efforts by dropping off a donation of food at Rekord’s reception area at Orpen Avenue 32, Brummeria, by August 6.
Wollies’ wish list also includes:
– Building materials for new and existing cages
– Financial donations for water and electricity accounts
– Specialist food for kittens
– Second-hand kennels in good condition.
These may be offloaded at the shelter at Rooikat Street 101 in Pretoria North.
