Large crowd gathers at president’s residence demanding his resignation

Activists came out in their numbers to support the #NationalShutdown

Protestors along with EFF president Julius Malema arrived at the official residence of President Cyril Ramaphosa with demands for him to resign and leave the residence.

Malema gathered over a thousand supporters to march from Church Square to the Union Buildings with a common goal to demonstrate their dissatisfaction with the current government which they said was failing.

“We have serious issues of unemployment, even though we were promised employment, we haven’t seen the change.

“We can see that our country is sinking due to corruption and we demand our lights back.”

A spectator from a different party added that he supported the cause.

Rekord reported earlier that Malema briefly addressed the crowds at Church Square, saying Monday’s shutdown was the “most successful” in recent history.

Monday, March 20, 2023 is the day the EFF political party chose for its so-called “national shutdown”.

It demanded that the government address the many problems facing the country.
