Rekord puts a spotlight on some of the winners of the Best of Pretoria Readers’ Choice Awards 2023 as voted for by its readers.

Rekord has asked its readers to vote for Pretoria’s best of the best, and they have done so for a few weeks.

The readers of Pretoria Rekord have spoken and made their choice in the various categories of the Best of Pretoria Readers’ Choice Awards.

The die has been cast and more than a 100 winners were announced at a glamorous function at the Milkplum Restaurant at the Pretoria National Botanical Gardens on Tuesday, October 24.

Sabine Goodwin, business manager of Capital Media, said this was her 10th celebration of the Best of Pretoria Readers’ Choice Awards, and each time the passion for winning amazed her.

“It is also stunning to see how many companies have won 10 years in a row. To get those votes consistently for 10 years is a real achievement,” said Goodwin.

These companies include Ocean Basket with two awards, Fidelity ADT, Jacaranda FM, OUTsurance, MHC World, Tiger Wheel and Tyre, and SpecSavers.

“After 10 years of voting, it is great to see that readers still participate by voting, as do the winners. We have not lost momentum, in fact we have gained,” said Goodwin.

Sunette Visser, group editor of Pretoria Rekord, said the Best of Pretoria Readers’ Choice Awards is a testament to the diversity, innovation and excellence that define this remarkable city.

“As a brand our slogan is Everybody wins, and this is also true today. We are very excited to receive the award as a premier Pretoria brand,” said Sofianos.

Isak Olckers of Midas, the winning choice in the Best Place to Buy Car Spares and Accessories category, said the chain of stores really values the award and trust of the Rekord readers and will make sure the certificate of the achievement is posted in all of the more than 20 branches in Pretoria.

To Lindi Fouché of Airport Pets, the Best Pet Shop award winner in the shopping category, it was a huge encouragement to the staff and owners.

She attended the function with husband Shaun Fouché, who felt their family business was trusted because of the quality of the people working in the 2 000 square metre store.

“We own five dogs ourselves and know that being knowledgeable about pets means a lot to pet owners. And you need to be nice to owners, because pets are always an emotional topic,” said Shaun.
