North police appeal for help to locate missing woman

Anyone with information about Rosa Sophia Cooper’s whereabouts, is encouraged to contact Warrant Officer Momberg directly at 012 353 5600.

The Pretoria North SAPS is appealing for assistance in locating 65-year-old Rosa Sophia Cooper, who went missing on August 19.

According to police, Cooper and a companion drove from Rustenburg to Pretoria on the day of her disappearance.

The journey ended at North Park Mall in Pretoria North, where she exited the vehicle and was not seen again.

At the time, she was reportedly wearing a black jacket and brown shoes.

Despite efforts to trace her movements and gather information from possible witnesses, no leads have been successful so far.

Police spokesperson Captain Johan Van Dyk said, “We are appealing to anyone who may have seen Rosa Sophia Cooper or has any knowledge of her whereabouts to come forward.

“Even the smallest piece of information can make a difference,” said Van Dyk.

Cooper is described as being of average build, with grey hair and brown eyes.

She stands approximately 1.40m tall and weighs about 80kg.

The police have circulated her details and photograph through official channels in the hope that community members may recognise her or provide helpful information.

Pretoria North police have also reminded the public that missing persons cases should always be reported immediately.

“There is no waiting period to report someone missing. Time is of the essence, and early reporting often improves the chances of locating the missing individual quickly and safely.”

Community members are urged to remain alert and to check whether they may have seen someone matching Cooper’s description in the Pretoria North area, around North Park Mall or in the surrounding neighbourhoods.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Warrant Officer Momberg directly at 012 353 5600.

Members of the public can also make use of the Crime Stop line at 08600 10111 or provide information anonymously through the MySAPS app.
