Sundowns deny Mosimane was attacked by fans
Sundowns reports that 'Jingles' was not attacked by angry fans following the team's loss to Golden Arrows.
Mamelodi Sundowns have denied claims that coach Pitso Mosimane was attacked by angry fans following their 2-1 loss to Golden Arrows at the weekend.
According to reports, angry fans waited outside the Chatsworth Stadium for Mosimane after the game but he ended up leaving with the police. ‘Jingles” came under attack after his side lost to the newly promoted side, Golden Arrows, with some calling for his head.
Mamelodi Sundowns spokesperson Thulani Thuswa however said the reports were false.
“There was no attack on Pitso. All the reports are false, they even had to use an old photo of him (Mosimane) being escorted. The match ended well and the team, together with the coach, went straight to the dressing room following the conclusion of the match,” he said.
Mamelodi Sundowns will be in action again next week Wednesday when they host high flying Ajax Cape Town at the Lucas Moripe Stadium. The Brazilians are ninth in the PSL standing with two losses and wins from four games.
