Schools T20 challenge produce fireworks
Before their defeat, St. Albans played an entertaining game against King Edward VII School.
The Coca-Cola Schools T20 Challenge national finals took place at Tuks Oval at the weekend.
St Andrew’s Ruan Cronje and Garnett Tarr batted Hilton College into submission to win the 2018 Coca-Cola Schools T20 Championship by six-wickets on Sunday.
The home side St. Albans played well but could not make it to the finals having lost to Hilton College by nine wickets in Saturday’s afternoon knockout round match.
Before their defeat, St. Albans had played an entertaining cricket against King Edward VII School in a rain-affected game.

Reduced to five overs each, King Edward made 39/5 but the home side needed only 11 balls to win the match thanks to Ross Whitelaw.
Coca-Cola had added a new element to the talent search tournament bringing on board Proteas player, Temba Bavuma and key cricket experts, to identify and reward players at each of the six franchise finals.
These players are selected to the Coca-Cola T20 All-Star team.
