East lethal striker just wants to keep on scoring goals
Don’t give up on dreams. The youth should always be patient.
Glen Gezani may be 30-years-old but he is a lethal striker and is currently the leading goal scorer for Mams football club with 32 goals to his name this season.
Known to his teammates as “Killer Man” Gezani said he could not have attained the feat without his teammates’ support.
“They are the ones who always supply me with good passes and all I do is just finish up the opponents.”
He said he was aiming for the golden boot should his team, which campaigns in the super league, hold awards at the end of the season.
Gezani said he started playing soccer at the age of six and never looked back and he had always surrounded himself with people who were playing soccer.
He hopes to one day play at professional level.
“I believe in my talent. I believe I was born to play football,” he said.
So far, he has scored six hat-tricks this season and makes sure that every time his team plays he is on the scoring list.
“I possess the same skills as Mario Balotelli, the Italian striker.”
Gezani said he was motivated by Lucky Mohomi of Mamelodi Sundowns. “He is disciplined at all the times. The youth of Mamelodi, especially those who are playing soccer, must keep up the good work and they must always double their effort when they are training and during the football matches.
“They must also stay away from drugs and alcohol because those will destroy their future.”
The team’s spokesperson George Moagi described Killer Man as one of the best senior players with a bright future.
“He still has a long way in his football career. He knows the ins and outs of the game and he is not selfish to give other players scoring opportunities too.”
