SPORT: Downs not blocking Tau’s Europe move
Tau has reportedly received offers from English teams.
Mamelodi Sundowns are okay with releasing Percy Tau for his dream move to Europe despite what media reports are saying.
Last week, reports emerged that the Pretoria club was blocking Tau’s move. However, Downs have refuted these claims.
THE PERCY TAU DEBATE
Even if @Masandawana don’t need the money, I think they should take the £2.5m (R44-million) offered by EPL side, Brighton. Rather cash in now than see Tau walk for free in June 2019 when his contract expires. Players come and go.

“We have stated on numerous occasions over the past 18 months that [we are] committed to ensuring that Percy Tau plays and pursues his career in Europe,” the club said on their website.
“We have been saddened by misrepresentations and false statements in the media concerning discussions for Percy Tau to play in Europe.”
Earlier coach Pitso Mosimane said the 24-year-old Tau has sparked interest from English premier league teams.
“Mamelodi Sundowns will not engage and discuss in public and with the media, the confidential negotiations that are currently underway with several interested European clubs for Percy Tau to play in Europe,” the club said.
Last month, Tau was named footballer of the season and players’ player of the season after helping Sundowns to a league title.
Well I can’t see this ending well…
Sundowns call out ‘false statements’ from Percy Tau’s agent, and Tau responds on Instagram.
I’m also told that Tau didn’t travel with Sundowns today for their training in Rustenburg. https://t.co/fo067G67C0 pic.twitter.com/TNsUDanDKU
