Young bowlers bring home gold

If the achievements of Pretoria's young bowlers are to be considered it seems that the future of the sport is healthy.

At the recent u.19 Inter Districts Bowls Competition in Bloemfontein the Bowls Gauteng North (BGN) A-team won all 12 their games and were crowned gold medallists.

It is believed that it seldom in the past happened that a team won all 12 their games.

The union’s u.25 team and the u.19 B-team won the Plate competitions.

In the Open competition held in Ekhureleni, the Pretoria Ladies A-team from BGN narrowly lost to the Johannesburg Bowling Association (JBA) and came second with the silver medal awarded to them.

The Senior Ladies were also receiving silver after a defeat in the finals against Mpumalanga.
