Brazilians dominate at PSL awards
Mamelodi Sundowns players were the biggest winners at the PSL awards with Khama Billiat voted Player of the Season.
Mamelodi Sundowns were top achievers at this year’s PSL Awards at Emperor’s Palace on Monday evening.
Following a difficult ABSA Premiership campaign, it was time for local footballers to be honoured for their hard work.
The players of the Tshwane side, who claimed a double in the 2015/16 season, made headlines when they took home seven awards.

Mamelodi Sundowns’ biggest winner was forward Khama Billiat who went home as PSL Footballer of the Season and ABSA Premiership Player’s Player of the Season.
The Zimbabwean player was instrumental to the Brazilians’ league and Telkom Knockout Cup wins.
Another big winner was Sundowns defender Thabo ‘Mr Cool’ Nthethe. The lanky defender walked away with the Best Defender and the Telkom Knockout Best Player awards.
Other winners in the Brazilians’ camp included coach Pitso ‘Jingles’ Mosimane, who won the Coach of the Season award while Goalkeeper of the Season went to Denis Onyango.
Pitso Mosimane’s team was not the only winner on the night, their rivals SuperSport also got a mention.
Supersport’s key striker Jeremy Brockie scooped the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament after he helped Matsatsnatsa to cup glory with four goals.
