Don’t miss out on the 2018 SPAR Irene Lantern Race
The annual SPAR Irene Lantern Race takes place on Valentine's Day, Wednesday 14 February.

There are only a few days left to wait until Pretoria’s favourite and most romantic night race.
Join SPAR and 4000 enthusiastic runners for the annual SPAR Irene Lantern Race taking place on 14th February at the ARC Campus in Irene.
The SPAR Lantern Race will be taking place at the Agricultural Research Council Irene Campus. Runners must remember that the race will start promptly at 19:00. Participants must ensure that they arrive early at the venue to avoid rush-hour traffic in Centurion. Ample parking is provided.
The main gate at Denel is the main point of entry and exit for the event and all participants are advised to park here to avoid inconvenience later in the evening. There will be picnic spots available for participants and race supporters along with refreshments on sale. Don’t forget to bring your headlamps and other glowing light accessories to help light up the route.
The more serious runners must keep in mind that the 10km route of the SPAR Irene Lantern race also represents the first leg of the 2018 Irene Triple Challenge. Entrants for the Triple Challenge, who complete all three races in 2018, will receive a high quality T-shirt and a special shield to fit all three medals.
There will be cash prizes awarded to the top runners as well as loads of spot prize giveaways. The first 10 men, 10 women and all category winners receive gold medals and the next 100 finishers will be given silver medals. The first 3000 to finish the 5km and 10km route will receive bronze medals.
Entries are still available (while stocks last) at selected SPAR stores such as Centurion SPAR, Hennops Park SPAR, Monument SUPERSPAR, Montana SUPERSPAR, Lyttelton SUPERSPAR and Queenswood SUPERSPAR. Entry forms will also be available at Sweatshop, Runner’s Store and Run-A-Way Sport stores.
Online entries are available at www.enteronline.co.za and sa-active.com. There is an entrance fee of R100 for the 10km and R60 for the 5km Fun Run. Grand Masters will pay 50% of the entry fee and a R30 fee will apply for those requiring a temporary licence.
