Mail workers protest, stone truck
A truck was stoned and a truck driver injured when violence errupted during a protest at the Post Office's Tshwane Mail Centre, police said.

Police have opened a case of malicious damage to property on Thursday, when a truck was stoned during a protest action at the post office’s Tshwane Mail Centre, spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Khensani Magoai, told Rekord.
She said the driver sustained injuries and was transported to hospital. “At the moment, no-one has been arrested.”
Striking post office employees dressed in red Communications Workers Union T-shirts gathered outside the Tshwane Mail Centre on Thursday afternoon and threatened employees who returned to work.
“We arrested one person for possession of stolen property. The protesters dispersed at 16:00 and the situation is calm. Police are still monitoring the situation,” Magoai said.
About 100 strikers in front of the mail centre stopped people from entering or leaving the building.
Police were inside the centre, keeping a close watch.
“Magundwane (rats) we are going to burn you today,” said one of them.
No streets had been blocked-off and traffic was flowing as usual.
