Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) is a mathematics savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Using a small-town certified public accountant office as a cover, he makes his living as a freelance accountant for dangerous criminal organisations.
With the treasury department’s crime enforcement division starting to close in, Wolff takes on a legitimate client: a state-of-the-art robotics company where an accounting clerk has discovered a discrepancy involving millions of dollars.
As Wolff uncooks the books and gets closer to the truth and the body count starts to rise.
The Accountant features an acclaimed supporting cast – including Anna Kendrick, JK Simmons, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey Tambor and John Lithgow.
Ben Affleck had this to say to Channel24: “This movie surprised me in a way because it was so much smarter and more thoughtful and mature than I thought it was going to be when I read it. The screenplay was rich in detail, interesting in character depth, and complex in its evolution.
“Just the pure puzzle aspect of the story kept me guessing until the last page, and I thought it resolved itself in a really smart way.”
