Four-legged friends found new homes during the Cuddle, Play, and Adoption Day this weekend.

Everest Wealth, in collaboration with Tshwane SPCA’s Waltloo branch, hosted the event.

Residents could also make donations to the SPCA, while enjoying a day filled with free boerewors rolls, coffee, pancakes, a DJ performance, jumping castles for the kids, and exciting competitions where participants could win prizes.

Stephne Naude, manager of the advisory services at Everest Wealth, says the effort forms part of their Purpose for Paws project. It is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) community initiative that was launched this year and aims to provide support to vulnerable animals.

The project is run in partnership with the SPCA and other animal rescue organisations. It focuses on structural restoration, donation drives, and community-driven adoption events to create second chances for rescued animals.

“You know what, there are so many animals that are basically surrendered or strays. If you look at how many animals are surrendered, they need our help. If we don’t make people aware of these animals, then what will happen to them?” Naude asked.

Naude added that Everest plans fundraisers for other organisations, and more adoption days for the SPCA later in the year.
