The SANBS Limpopo is having much success with their blood drives at various schools in Polokwane.
Last week the SANBS held blood drives at Hoër Tegniese Skool Tom Naude and Westenburg Secondary School.
At Tom Naudé there were several new donors including Beau Botes, C.J. Noah, J.J. Reyneke and Markus Breytenbach. Beau was quite pleased with himself as he has a fear of needles which he now seems to have conquered.
“It just burns a little bit, I will definitely do it again,” he said.
At Westenburg blood drive controller Marhta Chuene-Masopoga said the school had started having blood drives with the SANBS in 2012 at which time there was not much interest.
“However, as awareness and blood donor education has taken place, more and more learners are committing themselves and today we have a wonderful turnout,” she said.
