The grand opening of Diamonds in Dust Western Equestrian Club lured local riders as well as enthusiasts from neighbouring towns to be part of the event hosted at Soetdorings Perdryskool on Saturday.
The programme consisted of western mounted games during which 41 riders competed in various disciplines. Other visitors participated in boeresport and a potjiekos competition while a variety of stalls were also available.
Owner of the club Maryke Mong expressed her gratitude towards everyone who helped with ensuring a successful day. “We had more than 115 visitors, way more than expected. We received only positive feedback and hope that the club will develop from strength to strength.”
