CARGO Sports Academy, “the cargo train of the north”, as the team calls itself, steamrolled to a 3-1 victory when they recently beat Sister Park from Segopye in a Polokwane Local Football Association match in Seshego.

The team, which is based at unit D in Turfloop, will travel to Seshego on Saturday, where they will face FC 104.

Under the head coach, Cargo Mamabolo, the academy has transformed into a combatant unit since their partnership with Gerson Ntjie High School.

Speaking highly of the players, Mamabolo said the academy is approaching this season with a formidable team of talented youngsters who are on a demolition mission.

“They treat every game very seriously and this shows the level of commitment in every team member.

“If we can keep up this fighting spirit, we will win all our matches in our streams and progress to the final stages of the province and the national championships,” he said.

Mamabolo will approach this weekend’s fixture programme with a game plan that could cause an upset for FC 104 if they slipped up.

Prince Mapoko will be the goalkeeper, Lefa Mabotja will form part of the defence, Tiisetso Seshoene will play midfield, while Alpheus Kgoetyana will captain the team.

Although the coach has a great quantity and quality players at his disposal, he said he was still looking for talent.

“We are looking for more talented players to join the team.

“Having a large pool of players allows a coach to try different combinations.

“It also puts you at ease when the team is plagued with injuries.

“Our registration window is always open,” he said.

Young soccer players who are interested in joining the Cargo Sports Academy can contact Mamabolo at 078 000 2003 or 082 635 6363.
