Mitchell House netball star selected to represent Limpopo

A Gr11 Mitchell House learner has been selected to represent the province in netball after an outstanding season on the court.

POLOKWANE – Ratile Lerutla, a Grade 11 learner and netball player at Mitchell House, has been selected to represent Limpopo following a series of standout netball performances throughout the season.

The selection marks a proud milestone in her sporting journey, reflecting her performance and dedication on the court.

Scholarship decision proved right

Director of sport at the school, Mituxa Lopes, said she knew three years ago that awarding Lerutla a sports scholarship was the right decision, and she has continued to prove that ever since.

“I’ve had the privilege of watching Ratile grow into an exceptional athlete across multiple sporting codes, and her latest achievement comes as no surprise. She never shies away from hard work and is always striving to be better,” Lopes said.

Lopes added that watching her grow and succeed has been incredibly rewarding.

“I am so proud of what she has accomplished,” she said.

Preparing for Johannesburg tour

Mitchell House extends congratulations and best wishes for Lerutla’s success as she prepares for the upcoming tour to Johannesburg.

Anne Mametja

My name is Anne Mametja. I am a mom of four and an identical twin. With a passion for media, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Television Production in 2012 and due to my love for children, I also hold a certificate in Nursing Auxiliary. As media is my first love, I started working at the Polokwane Review as a journalist in 2017 and it has been amazing thus far. I love journalism because I can be a voice to the community through my work. Journalism allows me to meet different people at the events I attend. Although there are certain beats that journalists stick to, being an all-rounder means I write community, schools, sports, hard, lifestyle and entertainment news. It also allows me to be versatile in the newsroom and assist where I can. ‘Journalism can never be silent, that is its greatest virtue and its greatest fault.’
