Limpopo’s stars off to the Lilizela Tourism Awards

LIMPOPO will have strong representation at the upcoming National Lilizela Tourism Awards at the Tshwane Events Centre on September 12.
Seven finalists from the province made it to the final. They are:
• Town Lodge Polokwane;
• Forever Resorts Warmbaths in Bela Bela;
• Porsche Villa Hotel and Conference Centre in Thohoyandou;
• Tanda Tula Safari Camp in Timbavati;
• 61 On Ireland Guest House in Polokwane;
• Tintswalo Safari Lodge in Manyeleti, and
• Fusion Boutique Hotel in Polokwane.
During the announcement of the finalists, economic development, environmental affairs and tourism MEC, Seaparo Sekoati told the finalists that Limpopo was fully behind them. He said they must play their role by bringing back the trophies.
The Lilizela Tourism Awards was launched by the minster of tourism, Martinus van Schalkwyk at the Tourism Indaba in Durban to recognize and celebrate tourism excellence, reward the people who deliver excellence in tourism, and also encourage key players and establishments to strive for excellence while motivating the tourism sector to keep on striving for perfection.
According to the chief assurance officer of the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, Thembi Kunene, participants will compete in categories like Sustainable Tourism, Entrepreneurship, Accommodation, Universal Accessibility and the Ministers’ Award.
Melissa von Gogh Hogan of 61 On Ireland Guest House in Polokwane said she would use the opportunity to make her province proud.
