Youngsters to be cake decorators for a day
BOXER Superstores has embarked on a campaign to teach children to become future responsible leaders.
BOXER Superstores has embarked on a campaign to teach children to become future responsible leaders.
The annual campaign is countrywide and is made up of an art competition, the Kids Decorating Competition.
The competition gives children between the ages of 4 and 7 years an opportunity to become Boxer’s cake decorators and it starts on September 21.
According to the Boxer Superstore public relations officer, Prenella Govender, parents can collect entry forms from any Boxer store.
Govender says from all the entries received in each store, 30 children will be selected to participate in the competition.
“The Kids Decorating Competition is a great way for little creative bakers to show off their decorative flare. We encourage all children to enter the competition,” Govender says.
On the day of the competition, the selected entrants will be given a sponge cake, icing and decorative sweets sponsored by Boxer’s in-store bakery and will be required to ice and decorate the cake anyway they like.
“The judges will select the top six, who will each receive a R50 Boxer gift card to spend at their favourite Boxer Superstores,” Govender says.
“Our aim is to encourage children to grow up to be future leaders, entrepreneurs and decision-makers.”
