SABC Limpopo has lost another talented anchor.
SABC Limpopo has lost another talented anchor.
Thipa Selala, who was the producer and presenter of Thobela FM’s current affairs show, Hlokwa la Tsela has swapped his microphone for an office desk on August 30. He now works for the South African Local Government Association (Salga).
Selala said it was not an easy decision to make, but based on his plan to leave the broadcasting world in five years’ time, he decided to keep to this plan. “Yes it is true that I will miss the interesting world of broadcasting, but I am excited about my new venture.”
Selala joined the SABC in 2007 after launching his career at Radio Turf, close to a decade ago.
Selala said his new position as communications and marketing officer at Salga would see him using the same resources at his disposal. “My new job is to take the Salga brand to the people and that is what I have already started doing.”
He lauded his former co-workers at the SABC for guiding him through out his five-year stint with the broadcaster.
SABC spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago said the SABC would never stop people from searching for greener pastures. “We are happy that Selala served us with diligence and we wish him well.”
