TO create awareness about breast cancer, Anabelle Model Management Agency will host the Retro Pink Up Pageant at Farmyard Trading Post on October 19.
The event organiser, Grida Valoyi says the pageant also aims to encourage women to have regular medical check-ups. “As the theme of the pageant is retro, people are encouraged to dress in 40s or 50s fashion. We appeal to models who want to participate in the competition to collect entry forms before September 30,” Grida says.
“Our aim is to raise money for local non-government organisations that assist cancer survivors. We urge these organisations to enter our reaching out competition by writing an essay that explains why they should win the money. They should also explain how they contribute towards community upliftment in Limpopo.”
Grida calls on sponsors who want to contribute to the event with food or cancer manuals to come on board. Entry costs R120 and is open to anyone in three different categories, namely 5 to 10 years, 11 to 17 years, and 18 to 25 years.
