Learners get ready for chess games

FIVE Limpopo schools will compete against each other in the Provincial Schools Sports Chess Tournament to be held at Mass Tech in Seshego

FIVE Limpopo schools will compete against each other in the Provincial Schools Sports Chess Tournament to be held at Mass Tech in Seshego on Friday. The tournament will start at 08:00.

The schools will represent each district in the province.

According to Daniel Kobe of Machaba Chess Club in Bochum, this will be the toughest chess tournament where his learners will participate.

He says his team is well prepared for the tournament.

“The fact that we are the only team in Limpopo that has a national title does not mean we are going to under estimate other teams. We will use our experience to succeed in the tournament,” says Kobe.

Hendrick Seloma of Thanganganyoni Primary School in the Vhembe district says the team will make sure to return with the trophy.
