POLOKWANE – Molatelo Moila, a gr. 9 learner from Florapark Comprehensive High School is this year’s winner of the Post Office’s provincial letter-writing competition.
Using the theme, Write Someone a Letter Explaining Why Water is a Precious Resource, Moila won R5 000 for herself and R15 000 for her school.
At the prize giving ceremony, held at the school last Thursday, Post Office regional manager, Ruben Masisi said they chose a topic related to water because water served a multitude of purposes.
He said it was vital that everybody pitch in to save this precious natural resource.
“Access to water is essential to ensure the health and well-being of humans and the protection of nature. Congratulations to Molatelo.
“Her letter was well written and outstanding. Thanks to the principal of the school and the teachers for encouraging the learners to take part in the competition,” said Masisi.
Pincipal Malesela Sepuru said the school is really proud of Maila for putting them the map and making the school stand out.
“This is a big achievement and a good example to other learners. Participating in competitions is important.”
Moila read her winning letter in which she explains why water is a precious resource and should not be wasted or taken for granted.
She said winning the competition made her happy and encouraged her to improve her writing and to study English as a subject.
