Matric maths exam: How some Polokwane learners felt by the end

We asked Polokwane matric learners how they felt walking after their maths exam. Here's what they said!

POLOKWANE – The wait was finally over.

After months of revision and early-morning or late-night study sessions, matric learners around Polokwane walked out of their maths exam today (October 23) with mixed emotions.

Review Online spoke to some of the learners minutes after writing to find out how it went, and what they really thought of the paper.

Some said it was horrific, some felt it was ‘absolutely fine’, and others said it was as expected.

Phenyo Dibelia (Taxila Secondary School): I wrote Mathematical Literacy exam today and it was absolutely fine for me. Whatever I studied came out okay and exactly as I expected. The paper was basically managable for me. I believe that when it comes to exams, when you study enough and the right notes or pages, then no exam paper will be difficult for you.
Bokang Mashishi (Taxila Secondary School): Mathematics (pure Maths) paper 1 was tragic, it was horror and incredibly difficult. We could not see which topics they were going to make difficult, and they decided to choose the one we hated the most, calculus and functions, and it was over from then. We tried to push as much as we could. Some of us were recovering from accounting yesterday, and it was not looking good.
Nthete Mashapa (Noorderland High School): It was fair and straightforward for the most part.
