GRADE 12 learners from five schools in the Koloti circuit gathered at the Moletjie Tribal Hall last Friday to receive words of motivation ahead of the senior certificate examinations.
Seshego High School, Boetse Secondary School, Phalatlou Secondary School, Makgabo High School and Maserole Secondary School attended the event with the MEC for education, Dikeledi Magadzi.
Monty Mabelebele, a Seshego High School teacher said the event’s organisers aimed to encourage the learners to stay positive during the examinations.
Koloti circuit manager, Mathukhwane Madimabe, announced the circuits results of the trial examinations at this event.
Madimabe said the results were not encouraging, but that the circuit aimed for a 100% pass rate this year. The circuit only obtained 52,1% pass rate in the trial examinations.
Magadzi told the learners that hard work never killed anyone.
“The only way to live like a king is to work like a slave. I have seen the library in this area and learners should use it to their advantage,” said Magadzi.
She further wished the learners the best of luck with the examinations.
Moselyn Mailula, a Seshego High School learner said the gathering was helpful and she believed that learners picked up strategies that would help them while studying.
