POLOKWANE – Parents and learners from Mitchell House as well as other residents enjoyed a day filled with all things Christmas on Sunday.
The afternoon began with a Christmas market, a money-raising initiative by the school. Achsah Poshoko, Mitchell House’s director of marketing, said the money would be used to buy Christmas gift packages for the grounds personnel. The market opened at 15:30 and closed at 18:00.
In the evening, the school’s three choirs and the army band got together to provide music for carol singing, which guests enjoyed immensely.
Favourite carols included Silent Night and Away in a Manger.
“I can’t believe it is almost time for Christmas. This evening is well suited and I enjoyed it immensely,” said one of the guests, Lesiba Moloko.
“Thank you to everyone who attended this evening. This was the first time ever that the event was held outdoors and I think it was a huge success,” the school’s headmaster, Andrew Cook, said.
