POLOKWANE – Learn to inspire yourself instead of other people, said the Nirvana Primary School principal, Thokozane Mhlongo during the school’s annual gr. 7 prize-giving ceremony.
“God has created you for a purpose, you are not here to decorate the school, your family or the community, but to search for your purpose in life. Do your part and God will do the rest. Put effort in your daily life to better yourself,” Mhlongo said.
She also gave the learners a few key notes which they could use to improve themselves:
• Keep pressing forward even if it is not easy.
• Be positive towards yourself.
• Develop better relationships and avoid company that can corrupt good character.
• Form good habits, because it is difficult to change habits once they have developed.
• Embrace the place where you are.
• Develop your inner life. Don’t allow anything to change what is in you. Remember you are unique.
• Stay passionate about life.
• Avoid watching TV for long hours.
• Your parents’ finances cannot determine your future, your future is in your hands.
• Be a wise learner who builds his or her future with good character.
• Be willing to sacrifice pleasure for opportunity.
• Make a commitment to grow daily.
The learners received certificates for their outstanding performances throughout the year, while the top achievers received trophies.
