MASEALA Progressive Primary School in Seshego bid farewell to this year’s gr. R learners during a farewell function, which was held at the Ngoako Ramahlodi Indoor Sports Complex on Thursday.
The function also aimed to encourage the learners to work hard in gr. 1 and to continue respecting their elders.
The principal, Kgopane Sathekge said: “I think the children are ready to proceed to the next grade. They have been tested in various subjects ranging from mathematics, lifeskills and languages and we see a lot of potential in them”.
Sathekge said parents should continue nurturing their children and remind them that they are special and talented.
Some learners entertained guests with their cha-cha and waltz moves, while others recited poems.
Eva Thema, one of the teachers, said the school would like to thank the parents for their efforts. “Parents play a big role in children’s lives and they should keep up the good work.
“The community should work together in teaching children good manners so that they can have a better future,” she said.
