POLOKWANE – “We had our fights when you did not do your work, but you have been good to us”.

These were the words of the principal of Nirvana Primary School, Thokozane Mhlongo, during the gr. 7 learners’ farewell function last Thursday.

The school’s hall was decorated in white, black and gold and the learners made sure to dress for the occassion.

Some wore formal wear, with girls in glamorous evening gowns and boys in suits.

Others were more casual, with boys wearing bright pants and shoes and girls wearing brightly coloured T-shirts to match their hair bands and accessories.

Mhlongo bid a fond farewell to the learners and said: “As we say goodbye to you, continue to work hard and do your best and you will be successful in life. As you leave primary school behind and enter high school, never lose your values, always be your self and never change to fit in when you were created to stand out.

“Avoid bad company that can destroy your character.”
