ELESIE Ramalepe (71), a pensioner from Morudi village in Tzaneen believes you are only as old as you feel.
Ramalepe used to work as a domestic worker, but she resigned in 2009. As no one worked in her family, she started a chicken business to provide for them and to help pay for her granddaughter’s college tuition.
“I started with three chickens, which increased as the months went by,” says Ramalepe. “I was not that good when I started the business, but I have since learnt a lot about farming with chickens.”
Ramalepe says she would like to have a bigger space to operate her business from and is asking for assistance.
“I want to be an example to other women and pensioners that life can start at a later stage if one is dedicated. You are only as young as you feel.”
Those willing to help Ramelepe with bigger space can contact her at 082 260 0621.
