TEAMS participating in the Philly’s Back to School Games will compete for an exciting R50 000 cash prize.
The four-day tournament will take place in Polokwane from April 18 to 21.
A draw was held at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World on Friday, and Buffalo United will play against Mediclinic FC, while Barcelona FC will face Nija Boys XI and Laduma FC will compete against Makgodu Zebras.
Philly’s Back to School Games are the brainchild of Phil Mathebula, who said time was long overdue for these games to be played in Limpopo.
He said after five years of looking for sponsors, Enviro Loo came on board.
“Limpopo is known for producing quality players, both in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and National First Division (NFD).
“We want to help produce more players. We invited many scouts from different PSL and NFD clubs and we are quite sure some of the boys will be playing professional football in the next season,” said Mathebula.
Philly’s Back to School Games will see u/15 and u/17 players showcasing their talent and the most talented players might find themselves playing for the Philly’s Sports Academy, which Mathebula said would open soon.
