TO encourage young people to abstain from sex before marriage, a young Christian couple from the Vhembe district have written a book, Purity Over Lust, which will be launched at Hope of Nation Ministries in Muledane in Thohoyandou in June.
Written by Khuthadzo Nembambula and Vusani Mbobvu, and edited by pastor Phathutshedzo Nekhwalivhe, the book explains that it is possible to remain sexually pure until marriage.
“The book talks about our experiences as a young couple and what God revealed to us. We show that God has to be the foundation of every relationship, because God is love. We cannot talk about love and exclude Him. The book empowers young people with the Word of God, showing it is possible to remain pure until marriage,” says Nembambula.
“We want to teach them that being in a relationship doesn’t mean you should engage in premarital sex. ”
Mbobvu says the book discusses the joy of purity during courtship. “The book talks about our journey as an unmarried couple. Our second book will show how being pure during courtship is beneficial to a marriage.”
“We also want to host a courtship seminar, where pastors can talk to people about courtship, marriage and purity.”
