POLOKWANE – The country’s youngest person to file a patent hails from Limpopo and was just 17 years old at the time.

Ludwick Marishane is the founder and chief of Headboy Industries, and inventor of DryBath®, a waterless solution to getting clean.

The Princess Tsakani Foundation is proud to host this remarkable young man as a guest speaker at their upcoming Limpopo Business Symposium.

This impressive young man has received many accolades including having been named Best Student Entrepreneur in the world (Global Champion of the Global Student Entrepreneurs Awards 2011).

Also in 2011, Google named him one of the 12 brightest young minds in the world. Time Magazine named him one of the “top 30 under 30 people that are changing the world”. Ludwick was the only African to ever get to the final stage of the Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition, going on to win first place.

Ludwick, a passionate ambassador and pioneer of youth entrepreneurship, has shown that his interests and expertise are not to be deterred by age or background. “I have a passion for student entrepreneurship, having been involved in start-ups from 16 years of age. My entrepreneurial endeavours have afforded me the amazing opportunity of learning from some amazing life experiences,” he says.

Combined with his extensive experience, knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit, Ludwick currently holds a Bachelor of Business Science, majoring in Finance and Accounting from the University of Cape Town.

This young man has held positions including project ambassador for Pioneers at UniDivision, analyst in the Innovation Skills Development Unit for the Technology Innovation Agency, and tutor, mentor and head of IT for The Leo Marquard Hall Residence.
