Frans (94) says drink and women shorten your life

FRANS Mukatuni who celebrated his 94th birthday on Saturday had very clear advice on how to live longer.

FRANS Mukatuni who celebrated his 94th birthday on Saturday had very clear advice on how to live longer.

“If you want to live longer, you must stop boozing and womanising.

“These days people are dying younger because they ignore their elders’ advice on how to live,” he said.

Mukatuni, who lives in Tshitanzhe village outside Mutale, was delighted with the surprise birthday party organised by his children, other relatives and villagers. Celebrating with him were his two wives, Masindi, (89) and Matamela (86).

He also thanked God, giving Him the glory for their lives.

Mukatuni is the president of the Nduvheni Burial Society. According to Johannes Netshivhulana, who was speaking on behalf of Mukatuni’s friends, Mukatuni was a man who always wanted family and friends to unite in harmony.

“He guided me since early childhood, and later in my marriage and my work. My marriage is all the better for his advice,” he said.
