R200 000 boost for bursary fund

POLOKWANE – Old Mutual Limpopo contributed a sum of R200 000 to the Polokwane mayor’s bursary fund at a business function held at Polokwane Royal Hotel on Thursday morning.
Mayor Thembi Nkadimeng happily accepted the cheque from Old Mutual Limpopo general manager Tlou Keetse, saying that she accepted the contribution on behalf of the children of Polokwane who would benefit from this bursary scheme.
She said this cash injection could not have come at a better time.
“One of the greatest challenges the city faces is around water and sewerage infrastructure.
“The bursary fund will contribute towards creating a pool of engineers that will assist the city in the future,” she said.
Keetse said Old Mutual was proud to contribute towards the fund.
He indicated that the donation followed after discussions with former Polokwane mayor, Freddy Greaver.
“Old Mutual believes in education because education ensures continued skills for the country. This is why we also have our own bursary scheme that is managed by trustees,” he explained.
