LAST Saturday poets had the opportunity to recite their favourite poems at the Library Gardens Auditorium in the city.

The poets took part in the open mic night at the Polokwane Municipality Literary Fair.

This fair started on September 10 and will end on October 10. The focus of this fair is to expose residents to all forms of literature and writing.

Poets were invited to recite either one of their own poems, or that of a famous poet at the open mic night.

“We do this to encourage people to write and appreciate poetry and to fall in love with this art form,” said Lethabo Ramokgopa, host of Saturday’s open mic night.
