Charity shop to aid academy

El Baruch Charity Shop in Levubu officially opened on Friday

El Baruch Charity Shop in Levubu officially opened on Friday.

The shop was opened by Annemarie Pretorius and her daughter, Riette a few months ago, and since then, they have made the shop bigger and better, culminating in the official opening.

The shop depends on donations of second hand clothing, shoes, furniture or any unwanted goods that are still in working condition. These goods are sold to customers at a very low price, and the money is used for the El Baruch Academy.

El Baruch Academy principal, pastor Craig Whitcomb, welcomed everyone at the opening. He thanked Henry de la Rey and Johan Smit for the space they provided for the shop. “We all have something in our houses that we don’t use, but the chances of someone else wanting that item are very good, so we ask of the public to help us make the shop a huge success and bring all your unwanted goods to the shop. I am sure someone else will buy it,” Whitcomb said.

The pre-school class, with Blienkie the Clown (Arno Meyer) provided entertainment thereafter. Everyone had a chance to browse through the items on sale and to enjoy some refreshments.
