Treat for CANSA volunteers

The Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) in Polokwane thanked their volunteers by hosting the International Volunteer Day at the Theunis Fichardt Hospitium on Friday.

POLOKWANE – Most welfare organisations are often in need of volunteers, who help with different aspects in the organisation such as fundraising.

The Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) in Polokwane thanked their volunteers by hosting the International Volunteer Day at the Theunis Fichardt Hospitium on Friday.

International Volunteer Day is commemorated on December 5, during which volunteers are recognised and thanked for their hard work and all their contributions in the form of time and money. During the celebration, Cansa volunteers received certificates to as a token of appreciation for their part in Cansa’s day-to-day running.

“We are very thankful for all our volunteers. Without them, a lot of what happens at Cansa would not be possible,” said Adri Ras, regional manager at Cansa.

Hussein Adam has been a volunteer for the past 24 years. “I need to give back to my community. That is why I am a volunteer at Cansa.”
