Tyres put food on table

Khosa says he opened his tyre fixing business, SK Mobile Tyre, in zone 1 in 2009.

MANY motorists in Seshego say they don’t stress too much when their cars’ tyres pick up problems, because they have confidence in their local “tyre magician”, Silence Khosa.

Khosa says he opened his tyre fixing business, SK Mobile Tyre, in zone 1 in 2009.

“It gives me great pleasure to see customers return again and again. They come back, because they know I offer them the best service. I take pride in my work and always make sure that a tyre is in perfect working order before I sign off on a job,” he says.

“I also do house calls and that is a service that my regular customers appreciate.

Khosa holds a certificate in mechanical engineering from the Seshego FET College and says his dream is expand and turn his business into a franchise.

“If I can expand my business, I can create job opportunities for young people and contribute to the economic growth of the country,” he explains.

He says he loves his work and never wants to do anything else.

“With the money I earn at my business every day, I am able to put bread on the table for my family and pay my younger brother’s tuition fees at college. That way I can also ensure a better future for my brother.”

Khosa encourages young people who struggle to find work to take matters into their own hands. He says nobody will help them if they are not willing to help themselves.

“The only way to improve your life is through hard word. Find what you like to do and turn it into a business.

“Then put your best efforts into that business and work to make your dreams come true,” is his advice.

“If you are willing to work hard, you don’t have to sit at home and wait for a job opening. You can create work for yourself and, in time, for others too.”
