POLOKWANE – A grey Toyota Corolla was found abandoned in Ridge Street, Ivy Park, following an armed robbery on the N1 south, 3km outside the city on Thursday.
According to Westenburg police spokesperson, Capt Mohlaka Mashiane, a grey BMW was involved in the armed robbery, with an undisclosed amount of cash being stolen from the driver of the Toyota.
Mashiane said the driver of the Toyota was forced off the road by the BMW. Two men jumped out of the BMW and took control of his vehicle, forcing him to remain in the vehicle with him as they sped away. The robbers took the cash that he had with him and abandoned their victim and his vehicle in Ridge Street. The victim was unharmed, Mashiane said.
He said an investigation was underway and no further details were available. On Monday the situation was still the same, with no new information available.
