LIMPOPO – A SCORNED lover went berserk with a meat cleaver when he reportedly found his girlfriend in bed with another man at her home in Bofulamato-Nngwekhulu village near Vuwani on Saturday night.
The 30-year-old suspect is facing two counts of murder and will appear before the Vuwani magistrate’s court soon.
Provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronél Otto, confirmed the incident and said it was alleged that the suspect arrived at his girlfriend’s home on Saturday.
“Upon knocking and receiving no response, he forced the door open,” Otto said.
“Apparently he found his girlfriend, Sarah Munyai (42) in bed with another man, Mashamba Sadiki, and started slashing at them with a sword,” Otto said.
The deceased woman’s sister, Grace Munyai said she was still in a state of shock after hearing the news.
“I don’t know why he decided to kill my sister. If he thought she was unfaithful to him, he should have just left her,” she said.
Limpopo men”s forum Munna Ndi Nnyi? (Who is a real man?) chairperson, Budwell Mufunwanwi, strongly condemned the incident.
