POLOKWANE – LETHABO Phoshoko (28) is a busy mother, wife, philanthropist and former mathematics lecturer who is currently a forensic analyst and continues to make huge strides in her life.
Phoshoko is from Polokwane and has been selected as one of the hopeful top 100 semi-finalists in the Mrs South Africa 2015 pageant. Mrs SA is regarded as South Africa’s number one beauty pageant for married women and is also a women’s empowerment programme.
When asked how she feels about being selected as a semi-finalist, Phoshoko says: “I am so honoured to be a Mrs SA semi-finalist. I intend to use the platform to inspire a lot of women not only in Limpopo but across South Africa, especially women living in the rural areas.”
Phoshoko goes on to briefly share some of her previous activities, including working with women who run orphanages in different townships.
Since she has been selected as a Mrs SA semi-finalist, Phoshoko has been raising funds for the Cancer Association for South Africa (Cansa). She continues to put in a lot of effort into doing what she does as she believes it is for a good cause, and to inspire other married women.
She is of the view that being married does not mean you should not be able to reach out to other people and make a positive impact on their lives. “When we get married we do not bury our dreams at the altar,” Phoshoko says.

Phoshoko is currently getting ready for the semi-finals of the Mrs SA pageant that will take place at Emperor’s Palace on April 24.
On this date Cansa will also have their fundraising gala dinner.
Highlights of the event and the journey to the Mrs SA crowning will be broadcast on the Be Your Dream TV programme on channel 146 (KykNet) every Sunday.
