THOHOYANDOU – THE Thohoyandou police are still investigating a case of murder that resulted following a family fight over faeces in Tshidzini village in December last year.
Thohoyandou police spokesperson, Maj Mashudu Malelo, confirmed the incident and said the trouble started when Thifhelimbilu Ratshilumela’s young children allegedly relieved themselves on the porch of his brother, Solomon’s house.
Solomon’s son, Fhedzisani, was furious when he saw urine and faeces on the porch. He told Thifhelimbilu’s children to go and clean up the mess. However, when Thifhelimbilu arrived, he told his children not to clean up the mess.
A violent argument started between Thifhelimbilu and Solomon. During the argument Thifhelimbilu allegedly took an axe and struck Solomon in the head with it, Malelo said.
Solomon died later of his injuries in the Donald Fraser Hospital and Thifhelimbilu was arrested for murder.
He last appeared before the Thohoyandou magistrate’s court on Thursday, April 2 and remains in custody until his next appearance on May 5 for further investigations.
