From keyholders to arty wire creations

'ALL of us are born with talent and it is up to oneself to develop that talent everyday' these words come from a very creative and inspiring Tesh Chivazve.

MOKOPANE – “ALL of us are born with talent and it is up to oneself to develop that talent everyday. That is why I push myself daily to make something better and bigger with wire art.”

These words come from a very creative and inspiring Tesh Chivazve.

The 40-year-old Tesh first fell in love with wire art in 2009 when he taught himself how to make a 3D chilli keyholder out of wire and since then he has greatly improved and can basically create anything under the sun.

“I kept the chilli keyholder as a reminder that this is where it all started – my first step to developing my talent.

“To date one of my latest creations are of a lion and a rhino – my proudest work up to now,” says Tesh.

His firstborn, the 20-year-old Shaun Chivazve followed in his father’s very talented footsteps and is a very creative wire artist in his own right.

“I am very proud of Shaun and I take great pride in the fact that I taught him the art and that we share this passion.”

Tesh and Shaun work as a team in selling their art: Tesh sells their creations in Mokopane on the corner of Hooge and Van Riebeeck Street, and Shaun sells their work in Polokwane.

“People appreciate my work and that is my biggest motivation to always do better.”

If anyone is interested in buying one of these special works, or would like something specific to be made by them, contact Tesh at 072 375 5105.
